Green Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 medium banana, previously peeled and frozen 
  • 1/2 cup mixed frozen berries
  • 1 tablespoon flaxseed meal
  • 1/2 - 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 2 cups fresh spinach

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until creamy.  Add more almond milk to thin or frozen berries (or bananas) to thicken. 
  2. Serve immediately. 

Notes

For a more filling smoothie add 1 heaping tablespoon almond butter or peanut butter, preferably organic.  This makes a satisfying afternoon snack.
